  • Flake White Replacement

 
Reds:

  • Cadmium Red Light
  • Quinacridone Red*
  • Quinacridone Violet
  • Transparent Earth Red or Gamblin’s Brown Pink

 
Yellows:

  • Yellow Ochre
  • Hansa Yellow

 
Greens:

  • Permanent Green Light
  • Sap Green*

 
Blues:

  • Galkyd Gel* (versatile medium – fast drying) or  Galkyd Lite Gel (formerly called Neo Megilp)
  • Odorless Mineral Spirits* (Gamsol)

  • Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel  (can be used in place of Neo Megilp and Stand Oil)
  • Refined Linseed Oil
  • Stand Oil  (fat medium for top layer)

Traditional Ratios to paint Fat-Over-Lean:
Lean medium for under-painting: 1 part medium to 1 part OMS (Odorless Mineral Spirits)
Medium for middle layer: 2 parts medium to 1 part OMS
Fat medium for the top layer: 1 part medium to 0 part OMS
