Stephanie Deshpande will lead a three-session Zoom workshop on painting peonies in oil. The class focuses on simplifying the subject through accurate drawing, value structure, and color relationships.
Stephanie will demonstrate how to block in the composition directly on the canvas using comparative measurement to establish key landmarks and proportions. Participants will learn to mass in the major light and shadow shapes, develop the halftones that turn the form, and work within a constrained value range. Edges and color relationships will also be discussed.
The final session will introduce glazing techniques to help unify the painting and create greater depth and luminosity.
Participants will receive a digital handbook, access to the recorded sessions, and personalized feedback via email. All levels are welcome.
